Assignment:  to read, outline, and take detailed notes on readings in preparation for class
discussion and essay writing.  Consider the following:  author, time period, place, main idea,
audience, purpose, and key quotes or phrases.          
                   
All students are expected to have assignment completed for Friday September 5, 2008 
                   
Teacher will accept late assignments on the following Monday only (less one grade).  
If assignment is not turned in, first marking period grade will be lowered by 10 points.
